Technical Services Director
ERP is seeking an experienced Director of Technical Services to join our team. This role entails overseeing operational leadership and coordination among our technical delivery teams. These teams consist of non-JD Edwards technical experts and leaders who provide hosting and management services to our clients. The areas of responsibility include Cloud Operations, System Administration, Infrastructure Operations, Data Centers, and Internal IT support.
The Director of Technical Services is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of our technology services at a high level of quality, efficiency, and scalability, meeting both our customers' evolving needs and the Company's growth objectives. They will collaborate closely with their reporting teams and senior management to develop and implement technical strategies, policies, and procedures that are aligned with and supportive of the company's strategic goals.
Location:
- Our home office is based in Cincinnati, OH. However, we are open to hiring someone who is fully remote regardless of location.
- Although the position is fully remote, there may be occasional travel required based on job needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management: The paramount responsibility of the position is to provide inspirational leadership and direction to the technical teams, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and collaborative teamwork. Mentor and develop team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to excel in their roles.
Planning and Execution: Develop and execute a comprehensive technical approach that supports the company's goals, including the expansion of service offerings, scaling improvements, enhancement of system reliability and performance, and improvement of service delivery efficiency.
Service Delivery and Operations Management: Oversee the delivery of hosting and management services, ensuring that customer commitments are met with the highest levels of quality and service. Manage the operational aspects of the data centers, infrastructure operations, system administration, and internal IT support, ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and resilient. Collaborate with other teams and managers to coordinate the delivery of these services as part of the overall customer experience.
Customer Relationship Management: Act as a senior point of contact for key customers, understanding their technical needs and challenges, and ensuring they are addressed promptly and effectively. Work closely with other teams to continuously maintain and improve customer relationships.
Technology and Innovation Leadership: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends that can impact the company's technical strategy and service offerings. Lead the evaluation and adoption of new technologies and practices that can enhance operational efficiency and provide competitive advantages.
Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage the technical services budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources across projects and initiatives. Oversee the procurement of technology and services, negotiating with vendors and partners to secure favorable terms. Forecast and plan software and hardware lifecycles as well as spending plans to support these lifecycles.
Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure that all technical operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices. Work with our security team to implement robust security measures and disaster recovery plans to protect company and customer data. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
Qualifications:
Significant experience in IT operations, in a leadership role managing technical teams, particularly in a multi-tenant environment.
Strong technical background in system administration, infrastructure operations, and data center management.
Self-starter, can-do attitude.
Proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategies that have delivered measurable business benefits.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams and manage stakeholders across different levels of the organization.
Experience in managing budgets, vendor relationships, and negotiating contracts.
Deep understanding of ITIL, ISO, and other industry standards and best practices in IT service management.
Familiarity with cloud computing, virtualization technologies, and cybersecurity principles.
